I have been bit… by the acting bug! As I add this piece to my journey, I wanted to let you know what I have been up to these past few weeks.
This weekend, I head to McHenry, Maryland to shoot Dat Wolf, where I play Toni, a sassy, outspoken leader among her peers. You will have to check out the film, but here are some “behind the scenes” photos. This Fall, I will be in a play, The Engagement, which will debut for a private audience at the Anacostia Playhouse. In The Engagement, I play Chavon, a loyal, best friend to the bride-to-be.
The upcoming DC Black Theater Festival is keeping me busy too. There, I will again be taking stage with In Sight and Sound Live De(a)f Poetry on June 27th at the Anacostia Playhouse. During the Festival, I will also be hosting a women’s spoken word showcase, so stay tuned for details on that.
And finally, I just finished up my spoken word and leadership workshops with DC Scores and the Kelly Miller Middle School. The workshops culminated in a youth-elder partnership around technology.
Thank you for your interest in my journey!
